Are you interested in obtaining an overview of multiple African cultures rather than focusing on a single region, language, or literature? Discover the richness of Africa, its history, diverse cultures and languages as you learn Swahili or Yoruba or Arabic, and take such popular courses as CMLT 4245 (Oral Literature in Africa) and CMLT 4230 (African Cinema) before studying abroad in Tanzania, Ghana, or Burkina Faso. A pre-requisite for the minor is one year course work in African languages. All students earning the minor must complete this 8 hours (or one year) prerequisite before beginning course work for the minor.
