Irina received her MA in Swedish Language and the History of Western Literature  from the Lomonosov Moscow State University. Her thesis "Silence as a Mode of Communication" was dedicated to the comparative analysis of the poetic language created by Herman Melville and Søren Kierkegaard to generate the philosophical concept of Absolute. Her research interests include Romanticism, Swedish Modernist poetry, Second World War Literature and Film,  studies in translation and dramaturgy. Currently, she is working as a TA in the Chinese Cinema Class.
